These Terms and Conditions apply to products, avionics equipment, installations, repairs, inspections, testing, and other services provided by Top Hat Avionics LLC.
Estimates and Quotes
All estimates and quotations are based on the information available at the time they are prepared. Unless otherwise stated in writing, quoted pricing applies only to the equipment, materials, and labor specifically identified in the estimate.
Additional discrepancies, repairs, modifications, parts, materials, or labor discovered during the project that are outside the original scope of work will be quoted or billed separately and will require customer authorization before additional work is performed.
Avionics Equipment and Parts
Avionics equipment, special-order components, custom panels, and other parts ordered specifically for a customer’s aircraft may require payment in full before the order is placed.
Equipment pricing and availability are subject to manufacturer and distributor availability. Manufacturer price changes, shipping charges, backorders, and other circumstances outside the control of Top Hat Avionics may affect final pricing and completion dates.
Special-order, custom, or installed equipment may be non-refundable or subject to manufacturer or distributor return policies and restocking fees.
Installation Projects
A deposit may be required before an aircraft is scheduled for an avionics installation or major upgrade.
For larger installation projects, Top Hat Avionics may require:
- 100% payment for equipment and parts prior to ordering
- 50% deposit toward estimated labor prior to beginning the installation
- Remaining balance due upon completion and prior to aircraft release, unless other payment arrangements have been approved in writing
Any additional work outside the original scope will be communicated to the customer and requires authorization before proceeding.
Lead Times
Estimated equipment and installation lead times are provided as a courtesy and are not guaranteed.
Lead times may be affected by equipment availability, manufacturer backorders, shipping delays, aircraft condition, additional discrepancies discovered during installation, engineering or documentation requirements, and other circumstances beyond our control.
Inspections and Certifications
Top Hat Avionics LLC provides avionics-related testing and inspections within the capabilities and ratings of our FAA Repair Station, including applicable 14 CFR § 91.411 and § 91.413 inspections and testing.
Additional repairs or corrective actions required for an aircraft or system to successfully complete an inspection or certification are not automatically included in the inspection price unless specifically stated.
Payment
Payment is due according to the terms stated on the customer’s estimate, work order, or invoice.
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, all outstanding balances must be paid in full before the aircraft, equipment, or completed project is released.
Commercial or fleet customers requesting credit terms may be subject to prior approval.
Customer-Supplied Equipment
Installation of customer-supplied avionics or equipment must be approved by Top Hat Avionics prior to scheduling.
Additional charges may apply for missing components, incomplete installation kits, damaged equipment, outdated software, wiring modifications, troubleshooting, or other issues associated with customer-supplied equipment.
Top Hat Avionics is not responsible for manufacturer warranty coverage on equipment purchased from another supplier.
Cancellations and Schedule Changes
Customers should notify Top Hat Avionics as soon as possible if an installation appointment needs to be canceled or rescheduled.
Deposits, special-order equipment, custom-manufactured components, and expenses already incurred may be non-refundable.
Warranty
Manufacturer warranties apply to eligible avionics equipment according to the individual manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
Top Hat Avionics stands behind the quality of our workmanship. Warranty coverage related to installation workmanship will be evaluated based on the circumstances of each claim and the terms provided with the applicable work order or invoice.
Aircraft Release
Aircraft will be released after the agreed work has been completed, required documentation has been prepared, and all outstanding balances have been paid unless other arrangements have been approved in writing.
